Ground breaking for the new facility will take place this fall and relocation of the residents and staff is expected by the end of 2013.

Highlights of the expansion and relocation are as follows:

A 20-unit, assisted living center will complement the current offering of 88-skilled beds.

A dedicated 12-bed, Memory Care/Alzheimer’s unit will provide the specialized environment and care required by these residents.

A dedicated 30-bed, short-term rehabilitation unit will feature 14 private rooms and 8 semi- private rooms, all with private bathrooms, and an outpatient rehabilitation component.

A dedicated 46-bed, skilled care unit will feature 30 private rooms and 8 semi-private
rooms, all with private bathrooms, its own dining room, and rehabilitation center.

A neighborhood concept will give each of these units its own living area and dining room featuring a cook-to-order kitchen.

Additional amenities will include spa rooms, flat-screen televisions for each resident, and a chapel.

“We have enjoyed a 40 year relationship with the Paducah community as the provider of choice for long-term care and short-term rehabilitation and this project will position us to serve the community for another 40 years. The assisted living center will nicely complement the services that we have traditionally offered and future plans for an independent living development will allow us to offer a continuum of care that typically is seen only in the larger metropolitan areas,” said Mike Sims of Superior Care's Management and Finance Department.
