The man involved in a June 26 single-vehicle crash has now been identified as a man wanted by Kentucky State Police in a death investigation.

McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies investigated the accident on Old Mayfield Road, in which the driver was thrown from a pickup truck when it left the road and hit a tree and utility pole. He was taken to an out-of-state hospital for treatment, and remains in critical condition.

Deputies have worked with State Police and authorities in Tennessee, and say the man has been identified as 33-year-old Mark Wayne Basham.

Kentucky State Police say Basham is wanted on an indictment warrant in relation to the death of Graves County inmate Rodney Evans. He faces charges of manslaughter 2nd degree, promoting contraband, trafficking in a controlled substance- methamphetamine, wanton endangerment 1st degree, and being a persistent felony offender.

The truck Basham was driving was reported stolen from McBride Mack Truck Sales in Paducah.
