According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, just after midnight, a deputy saw a vehicle make a quick turn into a private drive and turn its headlights off. Once the driver believed the deputy had left the area, the vehicle backed out of the drive and quickly sped away without its headlights on.
A traffic stop was conducted on Murray Avenue where deputies could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Jose Harmon, of Paducah, had a suspended operator’s license and active warrants for his arrest. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, as well as over three grams of crack cocaine.
Harmon was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator's license, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. He was also served two warrants out of Fayette County.
He was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
