By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Three people were hurt in a crash early Friday morning at the intersection of John Puryear Drive and Eich Road.

The McCracken Sheriff's Department says the wreck happened just before 5 am when 54-year-old
Cheryl Crider of Metropolis, IL pulled her car out of the parking lot of Drifters restaurant onto John  Puryear and struck a pickup truck driven by 25-year-old Billie Thorn of Paducah. After the collision, Crider's car came to a stop in the slow lane of John Puryear. A few moments later, another car driven by 32-year-old Melissa Smith of Paducah also struck Crider's car and a passerby, 52-year-old William Neckel of Paducah, who had stopped to check on the accident.

Crider told deputies she didn’t see the pickup truck as she was leaving Drifters. Smith stated she was singing along with a song and didn’t see the accident in front of her as she was driving.

Crider, her six year old granddaughter, and Neckel were transported to Baptist Health for non-life threatening injuries. Thorn was transported to Lourdes Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Smith was issued a citation for having no insurance. John Puryear Drive was reduced to one lane for approximately an hour and half for clean up and investigation of the accident.
