Sheriff Matt Carter is asking parents and caregivers of children, ages 5 to 12, to participate in the "Ticket for Good Behavior" Campaign. When they see a deputy between July 13th and August 3rd (at 3:00 pm), Sheriff Carter asks to have their child come up to them and share what their good behavior has been. Examples could possibly be perfect attendance at school, helping with chores at home, or helping someone in need with a project.
Those in the Sheriff's Department would like to meet the youth of the community, which they feel will build good relations with them, and will let them understand that they can approach law enforcement in a time of need.
Each child that reports their good behavior will have their name put into a drawing for a new bicycle, helmet, and T-shirt. The drawing will be held at 3:00 pm on August 3rd.
Wal-Mart has donated six bicycles, (three girls and three boys), and Bike World has donated the helmets and T-shirts.
