McCracken County High School student Connor Tilford was awarded the title of Scenario Performance Champion at the International Future Problem Solving Finals held at Iowa State University.

Scenario Performance is a new division of competition, designed by the Australian FPS Program, to develop and sustain the oral tradition of storytelling.  The performances are connected to the FPS topics as participants develop futuristic stories to present in a creative and entertaining manner.  Without the use of props, costumes, or staging, the performer must pull the audience into the story.

Tilford's qualifying performance focused on the topic of Human Enhancement and followed the theme of "Hope" through the struggle of a critically ill patient undergoing organ replacement enhancements.  For the International Finals, he was given the topic of Intellectual Property and prepared "Prevail", a story of a struggling actor fighting for creative freedom in a legalistic future focused on copyrights, trademarks, and patents.

This was Tilford's 4th year to advance to the International Finals.  In previous years, he has competed and won honors in Team Future Problem Solving, Community Problem Solving, and Multi-Affiliate Global Issues Components.  When asked why he stays involved with FPS, he says, "It allows me to explore new fields and broaden my horizons in multiple learning aspects."  He is already at work on his Community Problem Solving project for the 2015-2016 competition season and looks forward to getting to work on his Scenario Performance submission very soon.
