A man and woman were arrested Tuesday afternoon, after police say a meth lab and weapons were found in a McCracken County home.
On Tuesday morning, McCracken County Sheriff’s Drug detectives went to a home located at 120 Pinewood Trail, which is located off of Old Hwy 60 near the McCracken County High School, to investigate reports of illegal drug activity occurring there. After their initial arrival, a search warrant was obtained to search the home.
According to police, the home had a strong odor associated with Methamphetmine manufacturing. The resident of the home, 40-year-old Robert L. Owen, and 44-year-old Candice M. Brown, of Smithland were at the home.
Detectives located and seized numerous items that were reportedly being used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine including: aluminum foil, hydrogen chloride gas generators, spoons containing meth residue, funnels, salt, butane fuels, Coleman fuel, hydrogen peroxide, ammonium nitrate, sulfuric acid, several sets of digital scales, and other related items.
Electronic evidence from the home was also seized that contained information about the illegal drug activity. Multiple firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun were also found close to a meth lab located there.
Owen is charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine. Dukes is charged with Complicity to Manufacture Methamphetamine and Possession of
Methamphetamine.
Both the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and ATF agents assisted in the search and investigation.
Owen and Dukes were lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
