PADUCAH, KY - Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday received a toxicology report from a serious vehicle collision they investigated a month earlier, and now, one of the men involved is facing charges.
Officers say the amount of alcohol found in the blood of 33-year-old Jeremy D. Childers of West Paducah was above the legal limit while he was driving on Noble Rd. on January 29. Childers vehicle stuck a utility pole, ejecting his passenger, Roy A. Glisson.
Glisson sustained major injuries in the crash that ultimately resulted in the loss of both of his legs.
Childers is facing charges of first-degree assault for Glisson's injuries. He also faces two counts of criminal mischief for damage to the utility pole and a telephone box.
Childers was arrested without incident at his home on Thursday. Officers say additional charges are pending.
