Traffic Stop Leads to Two Drug Arrests

A Tuesday night traffic stop resulted in two drug arrests.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, a traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Irvin Cobb and Bethel streets. Deputies allegedly found methamphetamine and marijuana inside the purse of 51-year-old Cathey Powell of Ledbetter. Powell was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, 55-year-old Gary Campbell Jr. of Paducah, was placed under arrest for operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license and other minor traffic offenses.

Both were lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
