The transient dock is currently under construction at Paducah's riverfront.

Paducah's City Engineer and Public Works Director Rick Murphy says the 340-foot long, 20-foot wide dock is being constructed at the foot of Broadway because it's a convenient spot, but once assembly is complete the dock will be floated to its pre-determined location.

In addition to the frame, plumbing and wiring for gasoline, diesel fuel, electricity, water, sewer pump-out, and fire water are also being installed.

Ameneties on the dock will include nine lighted pedestals with electricity, city water, and sewer pump-outs for inboard or outboard boats.

Officials hope the dock will be in use by late March or early April.
