A trial has been scheduled in the 2005 McCracken County rape case against a Louisville man.

Court records show a judge set a trial for September in the case against 46-year-old Jason Langston. Langston is charged with first-degree rape and sodomy, unlawful imprisonment, and intimidating a participant in the legal process.

Police arrested Langston last August after investigators identified him as a suspect in the 2005 rape of a juvenile. The charges stem from a rape kit that had been previously untested until last year. Kits containing DNA samples collected from sexual assault victims sat untested for decades until a 2016 law was passed requiring them to be processed.
