PADUCAH, KY - Two Paducah men have been arrested in connection with recent moped thefts.

The Paducah Police Department says a resident in the 1600 block of Jefferson Street told officers they had returned home Tuesday evening to find that their 2009 Vespa moped had been stolen sometime during the day.

An officer saw 52-year-old Steven Davis riding the stolen moped early Thursday morning in the 2600 block of HC Mathis Drive. He was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.

As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 300 block of Strathmoor Drive. During the search officers seized another stolen moped, as well as several moped parts that had been taken from the stolen Vespa moped. They arrested 34-year-old Jeffery Bennett and charged him with theft by unlawful taking under $10,000.

Both Davis and Bennett were booked into McCracken County Jail.
