A two-county investigation led to a pair of arrests Wednesday night, and a meth seizure totaling almost $200,000.

The Ballard and McCracken County Sheriff's Offices learned that a man from Missouri would be delivering a large amount of methamphetamine to Ballard County on Wednesday night. Deputies and detectives were able to determine the time and location that the methamphetamine would be delivered.

At approximately 7:45 pm, a vehicle carrying the methamphetamine entered Ballard County and went to the predetermined meeting location on the parking lot of a business in Wickliffe.

Officers apprehended the driver, 27-year-old Patrick Wallace of Kennett, MO. Police say a loaded pistol was found by Wallace's feet as well as a backpack that contained over four pounds of crystal methamphetamine. Deputies also seized marijuana, digital scales, and cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.

Wallace's passenger, 45-year-old Derrick Davis of Kennett, attempted to walk away from Wallace's vehicle as deputies approached. He was also taken into custody.

The methamphetamine seized weighed in at 1,951 grams, and has a street value of approximately $195,000.

Wallace was charged with Firearm Enhanced Trafficking Methamphetamine Over 2 Grams, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Davis was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine Over 2 Grams 2nd or Subsequent Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the Ballard County Jail.

The Ballard County Sheriff's Office, McCracken County Sheriff's Office, and the DEA were involved in the investigation and arrests.
