Two people face a litany of charges, after a high-speed police chase that crossed county lines.



According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, at around 2:56 am Friday deputies got a call that McCracken County Sheriff's deputies were trying to stop a car on Interstate 24 that had been clocked at 99 mph and was not stopping. Marshall County Deputies reportedly saw the vehicle exit onto the Purchase Parkway and attempted to make a traffic stop, when the vehicle accelerated to speeds approaching 120 mph and refused to stop. Deputies finally stopped the vehicle using precision means at exit 27 on the Purchase Parkway.



After stopping the vehicle, police said they found marijuana and meth inside. Police arrested the driver, 18-year-old Leslie Williams, of Harrisburg, IL and her passenger, 30-year-old Tony D. Patrick, of Lucedale, AL. Williams is charged with speeding, 1st degree fleeing or evading police, 1st degree wanton endangerment, possession controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and failure of owner to maintain required insurance. Patrick was charged with possession of marijuana and 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).



Both suspects were taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
