Two Facing Charges Following Search of Home

PADUCAH, KY - Two McCracken County men were taken into custody Wednesday following execution of a search warrant by Sheriff's deputies from McCracken and Marshall Counties.
Detectives began an investigation after receiving information of illegal drug activity at a Hovekamp Road residence in McCracken County. As detectives approached the house on Wednesday, 61-year-old Victor R. Baggett allegedly slammed the door and tried to hold it shut. Officers forced entry into the residence and took Baggett into custody.
A number of drugs and potential drug-related items were discovered during a search of the home, including marijuana, methamphetamine, Lortab, digital scales, a .25 caliber handgun, and money.
Also taken into custody was 40-year-old James R. Martin, also of Hovekamp Road, as he allegedly purchased Sudafed for Baggett in exchange for cash.
Baggett is charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful distribution of a meth precursor.
Martin is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a meth precursor, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
