A Paducah man was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Friday night on the Beltline overpass.
According to Paducah Police, on Friday evening witnesses told officers that a vehicle driven by by 20-year-old Ma’ken Smith, of Paducah was heading south, when it suddenly crossed the center line and hit another vehicle driven by 35-year-old Matthew Terpstra, also of Paducah head on.
Police said Terpstra had to be extricated from his vehicle by Paducah firefighters. He and Smith were taken to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment of their injuries. Terpstra later was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he was listed in stable condition Monday morning.
The Beltline overpass was shut down for some time while the police department’s Collision Reconstruction Team worked the crash.
