Two people from Paducah were injured in a two vehicle crash in western McCracken County, Saturday morning.
According to the McCracken County Sheriffs Department, deputies responded to an injury accident in the 4100 block of Metropolis Lake Road at around 11:30 am.
Deputies found that Michael Nance, 35 of Paducah, was driving on Metropolis Lake Road. When Nance looked down towards his stereo, deputies say he left the roadway on the west side causing his vehicle to enter a ditch. Nance then struck a driveway culvert, causing his vehicle to become airborne and land on the roof of another vehicle before coming to rest in a driveway behind the vehicle that he had landed on.
The other vehicle that was struck by Nance was being driven by Glenn Driver, 75 of Paducah. His wife, Vivian Driver, 77 of Paducah and he had been parked in the driveway waiting for traffic to clear to travel southbound on Mayfield Metropolis Road when they were stuck, according to deputies.
Both Glenn and Vivian Driver were taken to Lourdes hospital for possible injuries. Nance was not injured in the collision.
Traffic on Mayfield Metropolis Road was restricted to one lane for approximately one and a half hours for the investigation and clean-up of this collision.
