United Way Stuff the Bus Drive Today

The United Way of Paducah-McCracken County will hold their Stuff the Bus drive today, July 21st.

Schools in Paducah and McCracken County are gearing up for the first day of class, and the United Way of Paducah-McCracken County wants to be sure every student has the tools he or she needs to succeed this year.

Since 2009, the United Way has hosted an annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive.  This year, a yellow school bus will be waiting to be loaded with donations, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at three locations in Paducah. This event is being made possible by Paducah Bank.

United Way volunteers will pass out shopping lists with needed school supplies to people at Sam’s Club on James Sanders Boulevard and Wal-Mart at both Hinkleville Road and Irvin Cobb Drive locations. Shoppers can purchase supplies and drop them off on their way out of stores. Cash donations are also accepted.  

Volunteers literally “stuff the bus” with supplies.  Last year, shoppers helped more than 900 students start the academic year with everything they needed in their backpack, desk, or locker through the United Way’s Stuff the Bus event.

Proceeds benefit students from 18 public and private schools in Paducah and McCracken County.
