VenuWorks, a third party management company from Ames, Iowa, has been selected by the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center Corporation Board to manage the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

Board Member and Facilities Committee Chairman, Bill Bartleman, told West Kentucky Star that this is a much needed service as VenuWorks will be able to also serve in a marketing capacity for the facilities. He said this should, hopefully, bring in more groups, both local and out of town. He also explained that with out of town groups, it will provide a greater economic impact to the city, which benefits many others, not just the Convention Center.

He also pointed out that a key component of the VenuWorks package is that they will manage the new kitchen at the Convention Center, which should also help with revenue production, as well as attracting larger groups. Bartleman said that once the kitchen is in operation, all food service will be prepared on site, rather than depending on catering.

He also said the longer term goal is that the Convention Center will be in a much better financial position, and be able to provide the services that are expected from this type of facility.
