Volunteers are needed for next month's Lourdes Paducah Iron Mom Half Marathon.

This year's race is Saturday, May 12. Amy Nolan, with Family Services Society, says she still needs about 150 volunteers to help with traffic.

“Basically, they line every block along the route,” Nolan said. “We like them to be there just to make sure if a car is coming, just to let them know to stop or stop them in between runners.”

Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old. Those wanting to volunteer can sign up at the link below.

Paducah's Iron Mom is in its eighth year, and Nolan said she's hoping for 1,000 runners at this year's race. Proceeds from the race benefit the Family Services Society, which provides assistance to residents of Paducah and McCracken County in need by assisting with basic needs such as food, clothing, prescription medications, emergency dental, utility assistance, personal hygiene items, household goods and Christmas food assistance.
