As cold weather begins to set in, Paducah's warming center is in need of volunteers to help run the facility.

Jamie Sears Rawlings with Community Ministries said in a press release on Monday that Community Kitchen, at 1237 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., needs people to staff the facility overnight during times of very cold weather.

Volunteers work in teams of 2 to cover 3 shifts each night, when the temperature is below 40 degrees. Those interested in volunteering at the Warming Center this year are invited to attend a training session there on Monday, November 12 at 6 p.m.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age, and may contact Holly Long at hgklong@comcast.net to reserve a space in training or for questions.
