WKYX-WKYQ News won eight first-place awards Saturday night at the annual Kentucky Associated Press News Broadcasters awards in Louisville, including Best Reporter for News Director Donna Groves, who will be retiring on Friday.

Four stories by Bill Hughes won first place, including Best Enterprise Reporting, Best Series, Best Use of Sound, Best Light Feature.

Candice Freeland won first place for Hard News Feature, Joe Jackson won for Best Political Reporting and Barry Wright won for Best Public Affairs Reporting.
