The Wall That Heals replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will arrive in Paducah today with a large contingent of motorcyclists and vehicles escorting it on Highway 62 from Princeton.

The wall and accompanying convoy are expected to arrive at Carson Park in Paducah at approximately 2:00 pm.

Keith Todd of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the caravan leaving Princeton around 1:00 pm will create some minor traffic delays as it passes through intersections along US Highway 62 through Caldwell, Lyon, Livingston, Marshall and McCracken counties. The caravan will have an escort that will include Kentucky State Police, as well as other police and emergency agencies.

Todd encourages those who wish to watch the caravan as it passes to find areas with ample parking, and avoid parking along highway right of way.

Jerome Mansfield, Director of Paducah-McCracken County Office of Emergency Management, is heading up logistics. “We are encouraging people to come out with their flags and support the arrival along the route,” Mansfield said.

Event organizer, Mary Beth Orr said, “We will have motorcyclists as well as vintage cars of the Vietnam era. There will be a brief welcome upon arrival,” she added.

The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. presented by Milner & Orr Funeral Home. It will be on display around-the-clock at Carson Park October 25th-28th.

A “Welcome Home” Opening Ceremony on Thursday, and various other events are planned. Learn more at: https://www.facebook.com/twthwesternky/
