Whitehaven Cancels Annual Holiday Open House
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - Whitehaven Welcome Center will not be hosting its annual open house this year.

Whitehaven Travel and Tourism Supervisor Gina Harshman says the decision to cancel the event was due to the ongoing pandemic in an effort to help maintain social distancing.

Harshman says the exterior of the building will still be decorated in Christmas finery for the holidays.

"Due to the coronavirus and social distancing, the community can enjoy the outside of the home which will be decorated by Thanksgiving, thanks to the Dept. of Transportation and CSP. This will allow family enjoyment and social distancing." She said. "We thank you in advance for your understanding. The Department of Transportation and Department of Travel and Tourism want to wish our local families – blessings, good health and Happy Holidays!"
