Woman Charged with DUI, Drug Possession

A woman was charged with DUI and drug charges after a traffic stop late Friday night.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies pulled over a car at 11:49 am for traffic violations on Kentucky Dam Road. They spoke to 45-year-old Shatina Emerson, and determined that she was driving under the influence. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Emerson was arrested for DUI, possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and for not having a registration plate on the vehicle. She was taken to McCracken County Jail.
