A Paducah woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to child abuse charges.

Court records show 31-year-old Teresa Tyler entered a guilty plea on Feb. 4 on two counts of first-degree criminal abuse and one count of first-degree assault. The charges were filed in April, after a child in Tyler's care was brought into a local doctor's office with injuries that required hospitalization.

McCracken County Circuit Judge Tim Kaltenbach sentenced Tyler Friday to 10 years on each count. All of the sentences will run concurrently.

The child's mother, 31-year-old Jennifer Smith, was sentenced in March to 10 years for similar charges in the case.
