A work zone lane restriction along Said Road (KY 131) in McCracken County is expected to remain in place through September due to additional work required on the Clarks River Bridge.

Said Road is restricted to one lane with a traffic signal controlling alternating traffic flow between Reidland and Symsonia for ongoing joint replacement, maintenance, and painting of the bridge.

During the initial work engineers determined that the bridge bearings were not functioning properly and will need to be replaced. They are being fabricated while a sub-contractor continues some additional repairs on the supports underneath the bridge.

KYTC Engineers say they have received complaints about vehicles, particularly trucks, failing to obey the automated signal, as well as reports of speeding in and near this work zone. Enhanced police patrols have been requested to maintain the safety of everyone in the area.

With additional work required at the site, the revised target completion date is October 1.
