A Metropolis woman was hurt Wednesday in a crash on I-24.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded at around 2:25 p.m. to a crash with injuries on I-24 West at the 2 mile marker. Deputies said 41-year-old Tom Hazelwood of Jackson, MO was traveling West on Interstate 24 when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 87-year-old Alice Perkins of Metropolis. Perkins told deputies she attempted to miss Hazelwood by pulling onto the shoulder, but was unsuccessful.

Perkins was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
