Wounded Warrior Fun Run Today
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - A fundraiser is coming up this weekend in Paducah, in support of the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that assists, in a variety of ways, soldiers who have returned from war.
The run is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, in Noble Park. Registration is from 6:45-7:45 am, and the run itself will begin at 8 am.
Wounded Warrior Project assists families and soldiers as they rehabilitate both physically and mentally from the stresses of war. There are also job placement services available to them.
Wounded Warrior Project is in operation in cities around the country.
Rachel Lane is involved in the organization of the run in Paducah. She says participants may sign a banner that will be placed in a therapy room at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
There is a $25 fee to participate. Active military members with id may participate for a reduced fee of $15. The first 100 entrants will receive a t-shirt.
