Alcohol Use Suspected in Fatal Crash

An Alexander County man died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened about 1:15 am on Illinois Route 3, just north of Route 127. Police say 38-year-old Jason Klein of Old Olive Branch was southbound when his truck hit a guardrail and rolled multiple times. Klein was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest in the road. 

Klein was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police suspect that alcohol use may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
