Arrest Made after Alleged Drug Sale Near School

METROPOLIS, IL - A Massac County man is in custody after allegedly selling a controlled substance near a school in Metropolis.
Sheriff Ted Holder says a warrant was issued for the arrest of 47-year-old Jimmy Belt after an undercover deputy allegedly bought Lortab from him. The sale took place following complaints of alleged drug activity around his residence, which is across the street from a Metropolis preschool.
Belt was booked into the Massac County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
