GOLCONDA, IL - The missing southern Illinois man who fell from a boat Tuesday has been found.

Searchers located the body of 42-year-old Casey Chavez of Golconda, IL between 7:00-7:30 am Thursday, according to Livingston County Deputy Coroner Jimmy Lamb. 

Chavez had fallen from a boat into the Ohio River Tuesday afternoon between Carrsville, KY and Golconda, while his family was swimming. Crews started their search around 2:00 pm Tuesday afternoon and continued the search until Thursday morning.

Officials from Marshall, McCracken, Livingston and Pope counties were involved in the search. The Coast Guard and Illinois Department of Natural Resources also helped.
