Brief Metropolis Outage Caused by Ameren Problem

The city of Metropolis was without power Tuesday afternoon for around an hour.

A person at the Metropolis Police Department said that the outage started about 12:30 pm, and power was restored about 1:30 pm.

He said the outage was with Ameren Illinois, which supplies power to the city.

Calls to a spokesperson for Ameren to learn the cause of the outage have not been returned.
