Authorities have apprehended a Brookport fugitive wanted on burglary and theft charges in Massac County.

The Massac County Sheriff's Office says deputies on Thursday went to the home on Unionville Road to serve an arrest warrant on 46-year-old Jeffery Anderson of Brookport for failure to appear on an original charge of burglary and theft in Massac County.

When deputies arrived, Anderson reportedly attempted to flee out a window. Deputies said he refused to comply, and one of them used a taser on him. He was eventually taken into custody after a struggle, during which a deputy sustained an injury to his knee.

Anderson was booked into the Massac County Detention Center on the original warrant. Deputies said more charges are pending.
