A record low temperature was set at Paducah Friday with a temperature of 11 degrees, the old record was 14 degrees set in 1963.

The National Weather Service in Paducah also says this is the 12th consecutive day with at least 1 inch of snow on the ground.

NWS says the snow on the ground ranks as 5th with the most consecutive days. The record was set during the harsh winter of 1978 when Paducah had 44 consecutive days with at least 1 inch of snow depth.

A record low temperature was set at Cape Girardeau, MO Friday with a temperature of 8 degrees, the old record was 10 degrees set in 1993.

Forecasters are finally predicting a warmup.  Temperatures are supposed to be in the upper 30s on Saturday, and mid 40s by Sunday with rain.  In the long range forecast, temperatures are supposed to be in the 60s by Tuesday.
