CAIRO - A Cairo woman has been charged with first degree murder in a 2018 incident in Madisonville.

Illinois State Police say 66-year-old Mary A. Davis was arrested on August 10th and charged with concealment of a homicidal death.

The charge was in connection to 63-year-old Tomie Edwards, also of Cairo, being pulled from a river in Madisonville, and an autopsy showing Edwards died as a result of homicidal means.

The Alexander County State's Attorney's Office filed five additional counts of first-degree murder on Thursday against Davis.
