Driver Hurt in Hazmat Semi Tanker Truck Rollover

An Alabama man was injured Thursday morning when the semi he was driving ran off the road and rolled over.

Illinois State Police said 33-year-old Chance Morris was driving on the I-24 westbound ramp to I-57 in Williamson County at around 2 a.m. when he lost control of the tanker truck and overturned.

Morris was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The contents of the truck's tank began to leak after the crash, and a hazmat team was called in to contain the spill.

Police said charges against Morris are pending.
