Leadership Paducah Class #26 of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce will host a fundraising event to benefit Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club and the Leadership Paducah Foundation.  Come spend an evening filled with laughter and dancing with comedian “Kier” and dueling pianos from the Big Bang Bar out of Nashville. The event’s Grand Sponsor is Lourdes Hospital and will take place June 1 at Harrah’s In Metropolis with the doors opening at 6 pm.

The leadership class chose Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club as its charity to help raise awareness for the need of youth serving organizations in our community.  “My passion is helping youth, so you can imagine how excited I was when I found out we were picking Oscar Cross,” said class member Matthew Purcell.  “I am a Scoutmaster and involved in youth ministry at my church, so I love it when youth are impacted in a positive manner.  I had a chance to visit Oscar Cross and learn what they are about, and let me assure you the staff at Oscar Cross is having just that kind of impact on these youth. These youth are the future of our area and if we cannot support that then what can we support?“

Allan Treece, Executive Director for the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club, reports that over 26,000 youth entered their facility in 2012. The club maintained an average daily attendance of 120 youth each week day through its after-school programming, and served an additional 135 youth daily with its summer programming. “The Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club is very excited to partner with Leadership Paducah for their annual event,” said Treece. “We are truly grateful that Leadership Class #26 selected our organization as the benefactor for their fundraising event. We serve these youth with a goal of making a positive impact on the lives of all of our members. The funds raised from this event will help the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls provide new vehicles and allow for increased opportunities outside of what we can currently offer.”

Individual tickets may be purchased at a cost of $50 each. For ticket or event information, contact Matt Purcell 270-556-0682 or Matt Snow 270-556-8974 or email to LPclass26@gmail.com. Additional sponsorships are available to businesses and organizations.
