The Cave-In-Rock Ferry is closed due to high winds.

The ferry had to stop operation around 11:30 am, because winds were clocked at 23 miles per hour out of the southwest. When the wind runs upstream against the current of the Ohio River, it creates swells that force the ferry to shut down.

The Cave-In-Rock Ferry connects KY Highway 91 with Illinois Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, Kentucky, and Hardin County, Illinois.

The ferry normally operates from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week.
