Heat Index Back to 100 Today, Wednesday
By WestKyStar Staff
The National Weather Service office in Paducah advises that heat index values will top out near 100 today and Wednesday as highs reach into the lower to mid 90s.

Use caution if you must be out in the heat for any length of time from mid morning through late afternoon. Be sure to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of fluids, especially water. Take time to check on people and pets who are susceptible to the dangers of heat.

The heat will break a bit on Thursday as a cold front is forecast to move southward across the region. Fall will return for real on Friday with highs mainly in the 70s.
