Lake Wind Advisory Continues Through Sunday
By NWS
WESTERN KY; SOUTHERN IL - A lake wind advisory remains in effect until 7 PM Sunday.

The remnants of Isaac will progress eastward across southern Illinois on Sunday. The stronger winds will mainly be confined to west Kentucky and southwest Indiana Sunday.

Sustained winds in the 10 to 20 mph range can be expected, along with occasional gusts up to 30 mph.

Choppy waters will create hazardous boating across the quad state this weekend. Smaller craft navigation may be especially treacherous. Winds typically gust higher over waterways due to less frictional drag.

A lake wind advisory indicates that winds will cause whitecaps on area lakes and waterways with one to two foot swells common.

Drivers should also be aware of wind while operating large profile vehicles on area roadways during gusty conditions.
