A man was arrested Wednesday in Lone Oak on charges related to a shooting earlier this month in Metropolis.

At 3:13 pm on July 17, Metropolis Police and Massac County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of 11th and Vienna Street to a report of an argument with gunshots being fired. A 26-year-old man was found leaving the scene with injuries. He was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

A subsequent investigation by Metropolis Police identified 21-year-old O’Shay Everett as a suspect. The case was presented to the Massac County State’s Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant for Everett was issued on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm, with a bond set at $100,000.

On Wednesday, detectives with the Metropolis Police Department found Everett in Lone Oak where he was arrested by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department. Everett was taken to McCracken County Jail while he waits for extradition to Massac County.
