A Massac County man was arrested Friday on multiple charges after an incident in Metropolis.

Metropolis Police say they responded to a 911 call about a car stopped in traffic on 12th Street just before 3:00 pm, and when they arrived they saw a fight taking place. Their investigation determined that 33-year-old Brett Hearn of Metropolis had stopped in the street and some cars had driven around his SUV. One witness said the reverse lights for the SUV were on and Hearn got out of the vehicle and began punching and yelling at another driver, who police learned was his father. While this was happening, Hearn's SUV rolled backward into another vehicle.

Police say Hearn was extremely agitated and talking to people who were not there, and continued trying to fight with his father. After initially resisting, Hearn was arrested for DUI, resisting arrest and traffic charges. He was taken to Massac Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation, and then lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
