Man Charged in Stabbing Death at Ill. Gun Club

Murder charges have been filed against a southern Illinois man in connection with a stabbing death outside a gun club. 

Prosecutors in Jefferson County have charged 47-year-old Sammy Kehrer of Mount Vernon with three murder counts related to the death Tuesday of Eric Houser. 

Authorities say 37-year-old Houser of Mount Vernon died at a hospital shortly after being stabbed in the chest during an altercation outside the Mount Vernon Gun and Sportsman Club.  Online court records don't show whether Kehrer has an attorney. He does not have a listed home telephone number.     

Kehrer remained jailed Thursday on $3 million bond.
