A Metropolis man faces domestic violence charges, after police say he threw his girlfriend out of a moving vehicle.

Metropolis Police got a call Thursday about a woman screaming for help at 3rd and Ferry Street. Upon arrival, Officers found the victim, who told them she was choked and thrown out of a moving vehicle by her boyfriend, 35-year-old Samuel S Stalions, of Metropolis. 

Police said the victim had numerous scratches, scrapes and abrasions from hitting the pavement. Stalions was later found in his vehicle in the 700 block of W. 11th Street. He was arrested and charged with domestic battery and reckless conduct, and was booked into the Massac County Detention Center.
