HARRISBURG, IL - Authorities in Harrisburg are trying to figure out what touched off an altercation that ended with a man fatally stabbed and another man injured in an abandoned trailer.

No charges have been filed in connection with the death of 31-year-old Eddie Hardin Jr. of Harrisburg on Saturday. He later died at a hospital from multiple stab wounds.

Police say the surviving man was taken to a hospital for injuries that included cuts. Authorities say he later was arrested on suspicion of an unspecified parole violation.

Harrisburg and Illinois State Police officials are investigating.

Reed Funeral Home in Harrisburg says a private family service for Hardin will be held later.
