Megabus Strikes Pillar in Southern Illinois

A double-decker Megabus is badly damaged after striking a pillar along Interstate 55 in southern Illinois.

The wreck happened Thursday afternoon near Litchfield. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone was hurt but medical helicopters were en route to the accident scene. Media reports said the front of the bus was extensively damaged.

Litchfield is about 55 miles northeast of St. Louis.
