Metropolis Hardware Store Theft Leads to Arrest

Metropolis police say they were called to Hitterman's Hardware and spoke to employees who had an empty package for a digital multimeter valued at $19. Officers checked store video recordings that showed a man removing the item from the package and putting it in his boot. After purchasing some items, the man left the store without paying for the multimeter.

Police identified a suspect as 27-year-old Eric S. Ford, and he was found and arrested for retail theft. He was taken to Massac County Detention Center.
