Metropolis police officers responded Nov. 23 to a report of a burglary at a home in the 200 block of W. 9th Street. Officers met with a witness who told them that she saw a man, later identified as 22-year-old Dwight A. Roach of Metropolis, in the home. The victims told police that an item was missing from the home.
Police said attempts to reach Roach were unsuccessful. Roach was located the next day at the probation office in the Massac County courthouse.
Roach was arrested for burglary and theft, and was booked into the Massac County Detention Center.
