More Than 300 New COVID Cases Reported in Our Area

WESTERN KENTUCKY; SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - Area health departments reported more than 300 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths on Thursday.

The Marshall County Health Department reported 22 new cases on Thursday. The total number of cases in Marshall County is now 850, with 11 deaths.

The Graves County Health Department announced 50 cases, bringing their total to 1,478 cases. Forty-one deaths have been reported in the county.

The Calloway County Health Department reported 37 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The total number of confirmed cases for Calloway County is now at 1,455 with 17 deaths.

The Purchase District Health Department said it received notification of 96 new cases of the virus. The new cases include 85 people in McCracken County, seven in Carlisle County, and two each in Ballard and Hickman Counties. PDHD is currently reporting a cumulative total of 2,185 cases in Mcracken County, 214 in Ballard County, 187 in Carlisle County, 251 in Fulton County, and 162 in Hickman County. There have been a total of 38 deaths reported in their area.

The Pennyrile District Health Department reported two deaths in their district, a 75-year-old man from Caldwell County and a 77-year-old woman from Lyon County. The health department also reported 22 ne cases of COVID-19, including nine people in Caldwell County, seven in Livingston County, four in Trigg County, and one each in Crittenden and Lyon Counties. 

The Southern Seven Health Department confirmed 76 cases on Thursday, including 24 in Union County, 20 in Massac County, 13 in Johnson County, 10 in Pulaski County, four each in Alexander and Hardin Counties, and one in Pope County. Currently, S7HD is reporting a cumulative total of 2,729 cases and 28 deaths in their region since the pandemic began.
